Vyapar and myBillBook are two of the best-known GST billing apps for small businesses in India. Both let you make GST invoices, track stock and record payments. The difference is mainly in how they work, so the right choice depends on how you run your business.
Both companies publish comparisons that favour themselves, so this article sticks to what each one says about its own product.
How each one works
- Vyapar: mobile apps for Android and iPhone, plus Windows desktop software (Vyapar says it also works on Mac). It supports offline billing: you can make invoices without internet and sync later. Paid plans add syncing across devices.
- myBillBook: describes itself as cloud-first. On its comparison page it says you can work from an iPad, iPhone, Mac or any computer through a web browser, with real-time sync.
Features worth comparing
- Offline billing: a clear strength of Vyapar, useful if your shop’s internet is unreliable.
- Working in a browser: myBillBook highlights browser access from any computer.
- Several users: myBillBook says simultaneous multi-user access comes with its Diamond or Platinum plans. On Vyapar, paid plans let you use your account on more than one device.
- Your accountant: myBillBook mentions direct access for chartered accountants to download GSTR reports. Vyapar Gold can export your data to Tally.
- Selling online: myBillBook mentions a built-in online store.

Questions to ask before you choose
- Is my internet reliable where I bill? If not, offline billing matters.
- Which devices will I use: a phone, a Windows computer, a Mac, or a shared computer through a browser?
- How many people need to enter data at the same time?
- Does my accountant use Tally?
- Do I want to sell online from the same app?
