Chasing udhaar is nobody’s favourite job. A polite reminder that goes out on time does more than an awkward phone call two months later, and Vyapar can send one with a couple of clicks.
These steps follow Vyapar’s own payment reminder guide for the desktop app.
Turn reminders on
- Open Settings (the gear icon in the left menu).
- Go to the Party tab and tick Payment Reminders.
- Edit the message. It can include the party name, the amount due and your business name.
- Save.
Keep the message short and friendly. Something like “Namaste, a gentle reminder that ₹[amount] is due to [business]. Please ignore if already paid.” works better than a formal notice.
Remind one customer
Open Parties, pick the customer with a balance, and click the WhatsApp or SMS icon next to their contact details.
Remind everyone who owes you
On the Home dashboard, click the three dots (⋮) at the top right and choose Payment Reminder. You will see a list of everyone with an outstanding balance and how much they owe. Check it, then click Send Reminders in Bulk.
Look through that list before you send. A customer who paid you in cash yesterday will not enjoy a reminder today if the payment is not entered yet.
Before it works
- Your sales need to be recorded in Vyapar, so it knows who owes what.
- Each party needs a valid mobile number saved.
- Payment Reminders must be ticked in the Party settings.
Vyapar says SMS reminders are a free service. You can also share invoices themselves on WhatsApp; see our GST invoice guide.
